Three Months!

Braden is three months old today! I can't believe how quickly time has gone by. He is definitely making more noise now and can hold his neck up very well. My mom and I took him to the pumpkin patch this past week, he didn't know what was going on, but we got some really cute pictures. I entered him in MLB's Halloween costume contest and we will find out on Saturday during Game 3 if he won. I dressed him up in a Giants shirt, and hat and also cut out a beard out of cloth and put it on him. He is the cutest "Fear the Beard" I have ever seen. If you want to vote for him visit mlb.com/halloween and search under Giants. He is on one of the last pages. He was also on the news this past week in his Fear the Beard outfit. We are having a lot of fun watching him learn new things. He has just started to figure out how to laugh. I can't wait until he does it all the time. We are having our 5th annual Pumpkin Carving Party on Saturday, so I will post some pictures sometime next week. I hope you enjoy the pictures from the pumpkin patch!

Braden and I searching for the perfect pumpkin.

It will be neat to see how he grows each year.

11 Weeks!

Wow! I can't believe Braden is 11 weeks old. Time has gone by so fast, yet it feels like Braden has always been a part of our lives. He is such a cutie and Matt and I are enjoying every minute. Braden can smile, and it is so darn cute! He loves to go for walks and enjoys bath time. At his last checkup, which was two weeks ago, he weighed 13 pounds and was 23 inches long. We are looking forward to our annual pumpkin carving night and trip to the pumpkin patch! He is going to be a dinosaur for Halloween and it is so super duper cute! I will definitely post some pics of him in his Halloween costume! I promise to keep the blog updated more often, I kind of forgot about it! Thanks Jodie for reminding me! I hope everyone is having a great Fall!

It's a BOY!

Braden Allan Parr was born on July, 27 2010 at 7:38 p.m. He was 9 lbs. 8 oz and 21 inches long. We are very excited about being parents and are looking forward to our first night at home. Braden was welcomed into the world with a waiting room full of family and friends. Here are a few pics from Bradens birth day! Enjoy!

41 Weeks!

Here we are on week 41! I definitely didn't think we would be pregnant for this long. We go to the doctor tomorrow and we will discuss inducing. There will definitely be a baby sometime this week, we just don't know when. Matt and I are getting very anxious and just want to hold our little baby! We are also very curious to know if baby Parr is a boy or a girl. We are planning to enjoy this week and we are extremely excited knowing that we will meet our baby boy/girl in the next few days!

40 Weeks!

We are 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant and still no sign of Baby Parr. We have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so hopefully he will be able to tell us when this little munchkin plans on arriving. We are hoping it will be soon!

39 Weeks

This belly pic is brought to you courtesy of our last girls night before Baby Parr gets here. I have some of the best girlfriends in the world and we always have such a great time together.
We have 4 days left until Baby Parr's expected arrival date. We are anxiously waiting and trying to stay busy. I have been reading a ton of books, which I love to do and spending time with my girlfriends and parents. Everyone is getting really excited about Baby Parr's arrival and I just can't wait to find out if we are having a girl or a boy! The longer I wait the more curious I get. We have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so we will see what he has to say. Hopefully there has been some kind of change. Until then I will be doing the "baby dance" and hoping for a baby soon!

38 Weeks!

Happy Fourth of July! We are now 38 weeks pregnant! Only 12 days left! Gage decided he wanted to be in this weeks belly pic. It will be intersesting to see how he reacts to having a baby in the house. We went to the doctor on Wednesday and he said I am not dilated yet. We go back this coming up Wednesday, so hopefully there will be some changes. We plan on having a low key Fourth of July weekend. We watched fireworks in Lincoln tonight from the yogurt shop. What could be better than sorbet and fireworks? We are anxiously awaiting either the start of labor or the 15th of July, whichever one gets here first. This week we also celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday! I LOVE having them so close. After them being in Hawaii for so long, it is nice to just sit around and be together. Matt and I went to Babies R Us and added a bunch of girl and boy clothes to our registry so we can use our registry completion coupon once we find out if Baby Parr is a girl or a boy. Just looking and holding all the cute clothes makes me so much more excited about meeting this little baby. The doctor also told us that he thinks the baby weighs about 7 1/2 pounds, so it doesn't look like we will be having a giant size baby. We are looking forward to Week 39 and as each day passes we get more and more excited about meeting Baby Parr and actually being able to call him/her by name. Have a great week!

37 Weeks!

We are now done with 37 weeks and moving into Week 38. My mom and dad are here and it is so nice to have them close. They are getting settled in their new house and are definitely ready for Baby Parr to be born. Every time my dad sees me he says I look bigger! I'm not sure how much more my belly can grow...we will see! Matt's brother Will participated in Special Olympics this weekend, so we went to cheer him on. So far he has won a silver and a bronze medal. The weather is definitely heating up and I am very thankful for our air conditioning. Matt and I will be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary on Monday. I can't believe it has already been 2 years. I am looking forward to Week 38. Every day is a day closer to getting the chance to meet Baby Parr. See you next week for belly pic week 38!!

Week 36!

We are almost done with Week 36 and looking forward to Week 37! I am feeling great and enjoying summer. Baby Parr loves to squirm all night, so I have been getting less sleep these past few days. The most exciting part of this week is that my parents are moving out here! They will be here tomorrow night. I am beyond excited for them to be moving so close. I think it will be such a big help to have them around with the new baby. They are very excited as well. My dad calls almost every day to check in and see how Baby Parr is doing. At our last doctor's appointment Dr. Murphy said Baby Parr is "head down" and in the right position for delivery. Now it is just the waiting game. Only a few weeks left!

35 Weeks!

We are just about done with week 35. Only one month left! It has been really nice not having to work. I have been able to get a lot done around the house and sneak in a relaxing day at the pool with my girlfriends. I am not sure if my belly has gotten bigger, but I know Baby Parr has! There isn't much room left in there and he/she is squirming around like crazy. Matt has been busy finishing some house projects and starting new ones. He has one more week off before football starts again. Baby Parr is now a little over 5 pounds and 18 inches long. We are now seeing the doctor once a week. On Tuesday we are touring the birthing center. That's about it for this week. See you back here for week 36.

34 Weeks!

This past week was week 34. We had such a fun week! First, it was the last week of school (yipee). I was extremely busy helping 21 kids enjoy their last week of second grade and then sending them off to third grade! Then, my sister in law Sarah and her boyfriend Kevin came up for the weekend to join us for a camping/boating at the lake weekend. I knew I wasn't going to be able to do any fun wakeboarding or waterskiing runs, but I was excited to lay on my floaty in the water and enjoy the sun. We had a blast and that is where belly pic week 34 came from. Sarah had the idea to have the guys pose with me and show off their bellies as well. Matt just started football practice for the upcoming year, so he is busy with that. I am excited to be home and get Baby Parr's room and our house ready for our new little Parr. We are taking childbirth classes, which have been informative and exciting because I know it is getting closer and closer to Baby Parr's arrival. As time gets closer I am also getting more and more curious as to whether Baby Parr is a boy or a girl.

33 Weeks!!

This is week 33. Only 7 more weeks to go! I am getting very excited and I can't wait to hold Baby Parr in my arms. We took a trip to Monterey this past weekend to celebrate Jim and Tamara's wedding. It was a lot of fun. We got to see family and friends that we usually only see once or twice a year. We also got to visit Grandma Gene, which is always fun. The weather was amazing, but the ocean water was COLD. I felt like I had a brain freeze on my feet.
I also had a baby shower at work this week. I am so fortunate to work with such amazing people. The shower was so cute, thanks to Lisa, who is the best party planner/decorator I know. We received tons of great gifts and Baby Parr's room is overflowing. We are going camping this weekend with my sister in law Sarah and her boyfriend Kevin. I am super excited! I have my inflatable raft ready for some sun bathing and floating on the lake. This week is the last week of school and is jam packed with fun events. I am looking forward to the break from school, although I think it will make waiting for Baby Parr harder. I plan to reorganize the nursery and get everything just right for Baby Parr.

32 Weeks!

We are now in Week 32! Only 8 more weeks to go. Summer is quickly approaching and I am really excited. We have a trip to Monterey/Carmel, a camping trip, and many days laying by the pool planned. We start our child birth classes on Tuesday, so that should be interesting. The wonderful people at my work are throwing Baby Parr and me a Baby Shower this week. The guesses of whether or not Baby Parr is a girl or a boy keep on coming. We went to a BBQ for the football coaches this past weekend and although the boy votes won, there were a couple girl votes. Baby Parr is very active and has had the hiccups a few times this week. Matt can now see Baby Parr's kicks and rolls from across the room. Baby Parr is about 16 1/2 inches long and weighs almost 4 pounds. He/she has fingernails, toenails, and will gain about 1/2 pound a week until birth. I am looking forward to finishing the school year and relaxing before Baby Parr's arrival!

31 Weeks!

The Parr's are now 31 weeks pregnant. Only 2 months left to go. My mom and dad were in town this weekend, thanks to the caring doctors at City of Hope who understand that seeing and visiting family is part of the healing process. It worked out perfectly because this was also the weekend of Relay for Life. As many of you know, I participate in the 24 hour Relay every year. All of the donations made go to the American Cancer Society. This year was extra special because dad got to walk in the Survivor Lap. It is truly a blessing that he has continued to stay healthy and beat the odds. We are all looking forward to June 11th, which will be his 100th day after his bone marrow transplant and the day he will be released from the City of Hope. Baby Parr was very excited to kick both Grandma Nadine and Grandpa Al. Brooke layed her head on my belly and Baby Parr went to town with the opportunity of kicking her in the head! It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with my parents when they move here. Baby Parr is growing and now kicking me in the ribs. My belly is getting bigger and is sitting low. There have been about 4 or 5 strangers just in the last week who have asked if I was having a boy. One stranger has asked if I was having a girl. I can't wait to find out if Baby Parr is a girl or a boy. Baby Parr is now 16 inches long and weighs about 3 1/2 pounds. School is quickly coming to an end and summer is right around the corner!

30 Weeks!

We are now 30 weeks pregnant. Only 10 weeks to go! I can't believe how quickly time has gone by. The Parr household is super busy right now. Matt has one week left of baseball and we both have a couple weeks of school left. We are really looking forward to summer and a little break from craziness until the craziness starts again. We are getting really excited about the arrival of Baby Parr. We are both getting more and more anxious to find out if Baby Parr is a boy or a girl. I am so glad we decided not to find out. It has made the pregnancy so much more fun. I keep thinking about the moment Baby Parr is born and the doctor announcing whether it is a boy or girl. I just think it is going to be the most amazing moment. I don't think there is a better suprise than that! So far the votes for Baby Parr being a boy are way higher than the votes for a girl. I was at the grocery store the other day and the checker said, "When is your baby boy due?" I told her I wasn't finding out what I was having and she told me she definitely knew it was going to be a boy. It is so funny to hear everyones guess and their reasoning behind it. Right now Baby Parr is about 15.5 inches long and weighs about 3 pounds. He/she is rolling, kicking, punching and having a lot of fun moving around in there.

28 Weeks!

Just a little over 2 months left until Baby Parr arrives. I can't wait! We have had lots of fun trying to assemble all of the fun baby gear we received at the shower. I did the glucose test last week. The drink was surprisingly not that disgusting. It almost tasted good! We will find out the results at our doctors appointment this week. Baby Parr is moving and shaking. We think he/she was throwing a temper tantrum last night because he/she was kicking like crazy! Brooke finds it hilarious every time Baby Parr kicks. Today while she was visiting Baby Parr was rolling around. It is really neat to think that a little baby is growing inside of me. Baby Parr weighs about 2 1/4 pounds, is almost 15 inches long, and can blink his/her eyes. We are now in the third and last trimester of pregnancy!!

Showering Baby Parr!

We had Baby Parr's baby shower this past weekend and are so fortunate to have such amazing family and friends. We got many wonderful gifts and we are still organzing and putting everything away. It was really great to see everyone and enjoy a fun afternoon together. Baby Parr is growing, growing, growing. He/she is now the size of an eggplant and weighs a little over 2 pounds. He/she can now open and close their eyes and is kicking and rolling around like a maniac! I haven't felt any hiccups yet, but I have heard those should be coming anytime! We will now be seeing the doctor every two weeks. This weekend I have the glucose test, which I have heard is rather yucky. I will also be treating myself to a fabulous pedicure! Here are some pictures from the shower!

26 Weeks!

I am finished with the 26th week of pregnancy! Not too much to report this week. Baby Parr weighs almost 2 pounds and is about 14 inches long. He/she is rolling, moving and kicking throughout the day and night. My baby shower is this weekend and I am very excited to see everyone. The nursery is finished and looks so cute. Baby Parr has already received many great gifts from friends and family. We are so lucky to have such great people in our lives. I guess it is time to sit back, relax and wait for July!

Happy Easter!

I am now 25 weeks pregnant. Our trip to San Francisco was really fun. We saw Wicked, which was amazing, visited Coit Tower, and saw a Giants game. Brooke and Lois came over for Easter and we dyed eggs and decorated Rice Krispy treat eggs. Brooke also had a fun time decorating my expanding belly! My baby shower is in a few weeks and I am really excited to see everyone. I hope you enjoy the pictures!!

24 Weeks!

Baby Parr is kicking, punching and rolling around like crazy. He/she is the most active at Matt's baseball games. Baby Parr weighs just over a pound and is about a foot long. We have another ultrasound on Monday to check a few things out so hopefully everything will come out fine. The best part is we will get to see Baby Parr again! Hopefully they will give us some more pictures to take home. This past weekend Matt's mom came to town and taught me how to sew on a sewing machine. Together we made a cushion and pillows for the window seat in Baby Parr's room. It turned out SO cute! It was a really fun project especially since the sewing machine was Donna's moms. Matt and I are taking a mini vacation to San Francisco for some fun and relaxation. We will also get to spend time with Matt's sister Sarah. Hopefully the next post will have some more pics of Baby Parr and good news about the ultrasound. Happy Easter!!

23 Weeks!!

We are now 23 weeks pregnant. Things are going well and I am definitely enjoying the sunshine. Baby Parr is kicking like crazy. Matt and Brooke (my sister) have both been able to feel it. I love feeling him/her kick. It is so amazing. Right now Baby Parr is about 11 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 pound. Thanks to our wonderful families the nursery is almost complete. All we need to do is add some shelves and redo the closet. I am loving my growing belly, although not loving the back pain that is coming along with it. I can't believe I am almost in the third trimester!! I can't wait for July! Here are some pictures of Baby Parr's room. Enjoy!

The Great Name Debate!

We are now 20 weeks pregnant! Yay for being half way done! I am so excited for Baby Parr to be here. We are now in the middle of the great name debate. We are set on Braden Allan for a boy. Braden being after Matt's dad Brad and Allan from my dad. The girl name has posed much more of a problem for us. I went through a book of about 3,000 baby names and wrote down some of the ones that would sound good with our last name and weren't names of former students or people we had known. That is when the name debate all started. Here is a little taste of what our world has been like.......I have always liked the name Kendall, but Matt never really liked it. We then moved onto Whitney, which Matt liked but I wasn't in love with. Then we went to Ashlyn which I really liked but Matt didn't like so much. So then we were on to Ryan which Matt liked, but I didn't like at all. While we were visiting with our good friends Alex and Melissa this weekend we were telling them about our great name debate and I was going through all the names I had liked at the beginning that were vetoed by Matt. I mentioned Madelyn (which was one of my favorites early on) and Matt thought about it and decided he liked it too!! We would call her Maddy for short, which was a nick name for Matt growing up also. At first Matt didn't like that but Melissa mentioned how neat she thought it was and Matt agreed with her! So I think we might have a girls name....we will have to wait and see though. Other than that things are going really well. I went with Matt out to the duck club today so he could pick up his decoys and the road was really bumpy. While I was sitting in the truck waiting for Matt I think I felt some baby movement. I told Matt when he got back in the truck either the baby doesn't like bumpy roads or he/she was really excited to be at the duck club. Matt decided that the baby was excited to be at the duck club! I hadn't felt any movement before today, so we will see if I continue to feel it. I am very excited to have Gage (our dog) back from spending 3 weeks with Alex learning some sort of hunting stuff. That is about it from the Parr residence. I can't wait for Spring and sun shiny weather!

What a great day!!

Well, we are 18 weeks and 6 days pregnant! We had our Ultrasound appointment today and boy was it awesome! It started with my sister calling me telling me she was dropping something off at the appointment. Well, when I pulled into the parking lot I was driving right toward what I thought looked like my old car with my parents inside! Turns out, it was!! My dad's doctor allowed him to leave the hospital for a few days to visit with Brooke and I before his treatments begin. I could not have been more surprised and happy. So, back to Baby Parr. Our technician was amazing and after she was finished doing the pics she needed to do of the heart, lungs, kidneys, etc. she did some 3D pictures for us, which they normally don't do. It was so neat to see Baby Parr's face and watch how he/she moved around. Baby Parr even gave us a thumbs up!! I couldn't have asked for a better day! Here are some pics from the Ultrasound today. Enjoy!!

Thumbs up Mom and Dad!!

I am smashed in here, but I love it!!

17 Weeks!

The Parr's are now 17 weeks pregnant! We still have a few weeks until our fun ultrasound, and I can't wait! Plans for a baby shower are in full swing and everyone is super excited. Tomorrow is the 100th day of school; which means there are only 80 days left! Instead of counting down the days until summer break, I will be counting down the days until Baby Parr is here and I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to be a mom and watch Matt be a dad. I know he will be so good at it. I bought my first maternity shirt yesterday. It is really cute. It is almost getting to the point where my regular shirts are too short! I love my belly bump! It is fun to hear everyones opinion on whether Baby Parr is a boy or a girl. I would have to say the boy votes are in the lead. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Rain, Rain Go Away!

We are now 15 weeks pregnant. I can't wait for the weather to get nice so Matt and I can go for walks in the evening. Things at the Parr household are pretty normal for now. We'll be back next week with belly pic week 16 and the end of month 4!

Week 14!!

Here is the belly week 14 pic. My belly is really starting to show. It is really funny to see the reactions of my students. They argue just about every day about whether it is going to be a girl or a boy. My favorite vote came from one of the boys in my class. He said to me, "Mrs. Parr, I hope you have a hot rod in your belly. That would be so cool, because then you could drive it around." My job is so hilarious!! Hope you enjoy the pic...Week 15 will be here shortly!

Grandma Gene bought Baby Parr's crib. Daddy Parr was excited to put it together.

Do you hear what I hear??

Matt and I had our monthly doctors appointment today. We got to hear Baby Parr's heartbeat which was pretty cool. Doctor said everything is going really well and we are 14 weeks along. We made our appointment for our 20 week unltrasound which we are really looking forward too! Doctor also said my weight gain is right on! I was a little worried because I have been eating EVERYTHING in sight! Check back soon for belly pic week 14.

Raise your hand if you like my mis-matched outfit!

Well, we are on to Week 13....I think...Matt and I can't decide which dates are correct. We have a doctors appointment scheduled for Thursday so hopefully we will be able to figure it out. During Christmas break Matt painted the nursery. The first painting attempt didn't go as planned and Matt ended up repainting the whole thing. It looks perfect now and we are both excited for Baby Parr to live in there. We have been researching cribs and car seats and all the fun stuff that goes along with that. We have had several good friends give us great gifts for Baby Parr. Other than eating a lot and accumulating baby stuff, things are pretty much the same at the Parr household. Hope you are enjoying the updates!
